Jan29 to Feb 28, 2025 Dr. Patrick Yao serves as a research physician at ICON’s clinic in Lenexa, Kan., where he has worked since October 2020. After earning a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2011, he completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2014, in conjunction with the U.S. Air Force 55th Medical Group. He worked as a staff family medicine physician at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota prior to holding family medicine positions at Olathe (Kan.) Medical Center and TEAMHealth in Overland Park, Kan. Prior to clinical practice, he won numerous research training awards as an undergraduate, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Intramural Research Training Award and the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES) research fellowship. He has also participated in research studies at the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH), the National Institute of Arthritis, Muskuloskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) and at the University of Maryland.
